Many students do not know of this degree at school level. As the name suggests people think that fine arts means only drawing and sketching and painting, many feel they are not good in drawing, many more think, what is the use of this degree.

The first arts college in India was started way back in 1878. (JJ School of Arts) There are 233 Art Design Colleges in India. So this Degree or the subject is not new. 

Over the decades courses have been added. In the present scenario digital and technology based designs are also being taught at university level.

At the school level Design as a subject is introduced for 11th and 12th students. There is option to choose this subject with the main subjects. Exam is there at the school level also for this subject.

Education Board has a set syllabus prepared for the school level Design subject.

A portfolio of designs is to be prepared by the students at school level. Even when one gets admission in a Fine Art college a file of designs is prepared.

There are plenty of career options in Fine arts. Fine arts means one has B.F.A(Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree. You are creative, you have skill (to draw, sketch, photograph, design products, print).

So Fine Arts students would have created a very appealing art portfolio at the end of  four years degree. That in itself will gives confidence that there is a job suitable according to the skill mastered.
