The art of paper folding for students teachers and parents.

 The art of paper folding was popularised in Japan. The folding of paper into art forms was started in China. As we all know China invented paper. 

 The art of folding paper is called origami.

There are three types of origami( paper folding art).

1. Single sheet origami : That is different art forms are created folding a single paper in various ways. Example animals, paper bags, dolls etc.

2. Modular origami : Where same shape paper folding is pasted to form a larger art form. Flower petals , leaves to make wall hangings

3. Composite origami : Here a model is made from two or more different pieces of paper each folded in different ways. stars, decoration pieces,

Folding paper art is very popular art craft. Many art activities are created to enhance students hand and mind co-ordination. Paper craft art activities helps in thinking of different ways to recycle and reuse resources.

To develop motor skills in kids and preschoolers,  one of the best craft activities is paper folding method.

METHOD1

Step1. Collect colourful craft paper. The paper shape must be square.

Step2. Fold the the paper in half neatly. 

Step3. Fold the fold half paper again in half. A mini square shape is formed.

Step4. Diagonally fold one edge of paper to form a triangle. Do the same at the other end a mini cup shape is formed.

METHOD2.

Step1. Collect colourful craft paper. The paper shape must be square or rectangle.

Step2. Fold the paper in zig-zag way.

Step3. Fold the zig-zag Strip.

Step4. Paste the zig-zag strip into half . It will become a fan.

Conclusion: When kids follow instructions through the paper-folding challenges, both the motor and visual areas of their brains are activated.
