Fashion designers create original clothing, accessories, and footwear. They sketch designs, select fabrics, and patterns, and give instructions on how to make the products they design.

 Six Types of Fashion Designer

1. Apparel Designers :These designers develop new styles of garments which are functional and also appealing to look and also practical for daily wear.

2. Haute Couture: The designers work for high profile  wealthy clients. The designers create one of a kind customerised apparels. Haute Couture usually have small clientele. They have the measurements of their clients and design for up coming events.

3. Mass Market: Designers create apparel for general and to mass public. The clothes are mass produced/ The sizes are also are not custom made. The designer will make standard small, medium, large, extra large sizes.

4. Accessory : These designers create jewelry, bracelets, scarves handbags, googles and pendants.

5. Childrens Wear: The designers design comfortable clothes and bags and footwears for children, infants and toddlers. 
 
6. Sportswear : The designers must deign clothes for different sports that are played in the country. They must have good knowledge of the fabrics used. Fabrics used for sports  must be light weight  and must absorb sweat.
